Great place to do US passport stuff, such as add pages or renew. No waiting. Work completed within a few to several days, maximum. Much faster and more pleasant than doing it though passport office in US.

they make you wait in line for hours outside the door, with no phones or backpacks allowed, nothing but blank walls around, guaranteeing the worst boredom you could ever experience in the modern age. why the wait? what is the point of scheduling an appointment? they have no motivation whatsoever to make the experience any better for their clients. people come to do what they have to do, and no one has any choice in the matter. it is time we demand some rights

We arrived with our walkers, and that created an issue until they figured out that the walkers could come inside the outer door and not need to go through the walk-through scanner but could stay just inside the door. I was first and my wife had to sit on her walker for about an hour until they permitted her in. They were polite and relatively efficient as we had appointments and completed our business and paid our fees with our US$ credit card. The only negative is the need to wait outside the office in the hallway on the floor the Consulate shares with other offices, where they do NOT have any seating. Our walkers provided us with seating, fortunately, since neither of us could stand outside the door for the length of time that was required for my wife.

My client is in a Halifax hospital and needed some assistance from the consulate - in a hurry! They were stellar - I couldn't have asked for more kindness and generosity. What a wonderful staff at our embassy in Nova Scotia! It gave me comfort to know that when I travel, I can count on embassy staff to be there for me.
