  Helen, the manager was friendly and helpful, and she came to our rescue at the last minute when other places were booked up. Very reasonable prices, beautiful beds, and great location. Recommended.

  A gem for budget travellers. This is a simple, no-frills place that provides excellent value for money for economy travellers who want to stay in downtown Halfiax and prefer to spend money on things other than accommodation. If you just want a clean place to lay your head at night, here it is. Affordable, clean, safe, well run and central location. Recommend it.

  It's a dump, and the owner and cleaning guy left the knee-banging bathroom niche, and the shower/toilet room, dirty, rarely changing the mildewed fabric shower curtain and the soggy, smelly shag bath mat. The beds? Better put something alongside your body to avoid that listing boat feeling while reclining. Helen, the ornery owner/"host", gives no refunds for nights not used, and makes outlandish excuses for the freezing rooms in cold months. Good reviewers here must have been used to living in North Korean yeogwans on a miser's budget. Do your body and pride a favor - spend a few more bucks elsewhere (1 star for location - period).
