One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The atmosphere is great, from the moment your outaide the restaurant going in the front doors to even the bathrooms, this place just looks and feels comfortable and inviting.

Still one of my most favorite restaurants to which I’ve ever been. There is a large list of wines to try, food is delicious, and the ambiance is really nice. So much attention to detail here and if I didn't live in Pennsylvania I would be back!

Best of all the staff is wonderful. They struck this perfect balance of being incredibly attentive and proving great service without always being around pestering you, I was very impressed.

Portion sizes and presentation of the food was another thing of perfection. And even though it was a busy Saturday evening there was no feeling of being rushed as I feel at many places.

I attempted to dine on Saturday evening at 7 pm without a reservation since I have been winging it all of my vacation. The very cheerful hostess told me the first opening would be at 10 pm. Despite the considerable crowd, Sarah called to Mano and got me in there. So after dining at Mano at the bar with a wonderful Italian meal on Saturday evening I returned to The Bicycle Thief earlier on Sunday evening. The service was perfect, not rushed. My scallops were delicious, finely textured, not coarse and overdone as is often found. Next was the ravioli. And finally was the beef tenderloin with sautéed mushrooms and onions with a wine glaze. Even the fries were superlative, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. All portions were right sized so I had room for pumpkin cheese cake with an Oreo crust and their house coffee. I spent more on this meal for myself than I ever spent on a meal for 2. I am no foodie, yet was glad I indulged for my last night in Halifax. Everyone seemed comfortable and casual, whether a diner or server, enjoying a dimly lit setting, able to converse, without any pretentiousness - just very satisfying food from a menu with something for everyone. I am a smaller person so I was thrilled that I could get to all portions of the menu. A warm “Thank you” to Jessica (my server), Sarah (the hostess), and Ralph (the manager). The hotel staff at the Delta in Dartmouth recommend outdoors dining in the summer. I look forward to that experience.

I've been to very few places where I've enjoyed myself like this from the moment I'm standing in front of the doors till the time I'm walking away but this is one of them. It's a bit out of our price range to go regularly but I'll definitely be there a few times a year. Going to have to remember to make reservations for special occasions, even on a regular Saturday evening it was quite busy, and for good reason!
